ERG was founded in 1978 by physicians for physicians. Although the group has grown to 200+ physicians, decisions are still made around the table at our monthly group meeting, to which all are invited to attend. Our goal is to provide the best possible service to our hospitals and practitioners so that they can deliver compassionate, patient centered care to the communities we serve.

As an independent contractor, you have the freedom of establishing and customizing your own healthcare and retirement needs.
ERG provides Professional Liability Insurance to all providers.
ERG is dedicated in helping you to maintain your CME. ERG hosts a yearly risk management conference. There are also many free CME opportunities through the Coastal Community Health hospital systems to help you maintain your certification.
Physician coverage to patient volume ratio is approximately 20% better than average. Each physician works half of the weekends and half of the holidays. We have two main holiday tracks. Roughly 1/3 of shifts are night shifts. Minor and intermediate care areas are staffed by Family Physicians. We also have an active US program directed by our team of US fellowship trained EM physicians.
ERG offers a competitive compensation. There is a low turnover among our physicians. ERG holds a strong emphasis on patient satisfaction. We host proactive risk management programs, including Journal Club programs and the area’s largest Risk Management Seminar.
