OBGYN/Hospitalist Admission Criteria – BRUNSWICK ONLY

Subject: OB admission

After meeting with leadership from OB and Medicine, the following criteria for admission have been agreed upon:

All patients 20 weeks pregnant or more go to OB regardless of illness

All patients with a pregnancy related issue will be admitted to OB regardless of time of gestation

Any patient that is less than 20 weeks pregnant presenting with a medical issue shall be either admitted by medicine or admitted to OB by medicine in real time. If there is a discrepancy between the two providers, the expectation is for the OB and Medicine doctor to communicate directly and determine who is attending and who is consulting. If the patient is deferred to the OB service, the medicine doctor is expected to admit the patient to OB in real time (as they would with any admission).

Please let me know if this sounds correct and if there are any questions. I appreciate everyone’s time and help. Have a good evening.
